With the help of caring people like you, we can help pets in need.
Animal Care and Assistance Fund celebrates the contributions companion pets make to humans. It is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All activities of ACAF are funded by donations from individuals, companies, foundation grants and fund-raisers… all contributions are 100% tax deductible.
Gift Options: Cash, Memorial, or Tribute Gifts
Restricted Gifts: Gifts that support specific programs or concerns
Planned Giving: Bequest from wills or estate gifts
CASH Gifts, MEMORIAL Gifts, AND SPECIAL TRIBUTE Gifts are the easiest and most convenient way to make a contribution… plus you get the immediate satisfaction of seeing your gift at work. A donation to ACAF makes a thoughtful gift in memory of a beloved pet or animal-lover, or as a tribute to a living pet or someone special. For each gift of $10 or more, we will send a personalized letter informing the recipient of your thoughtful gesture, and send acknowledgement of your donation.
A Memorial Gift is an expression of understanding. It’s a wonderful way to honor the memory of a special pet, or an animal-loving relative or friend. A special acknowledgement will be sent to the family of the pet or person being memorialized.
A Tribute Gift honors a companion pet, a loved one or a friend. We’ll notify the honoree with a personalized card acknowledging your gift.
Unrestricted Gift will be used where the need is the greatest… assisting those in financial distress to get help for their beloved companion pet.

Pittsburgh Area Canine Units
Retired dogs from the canine unit are many times adopted by the police officers who worked with them. After their service days, these animals no longer have veterinary care provided by the police department, and their owners are responsible for all expenses. ACAF has a Special Fund to honor these exceptional dogs for their distinguished service, and to help provide for any specialty or emergency services they need.

Asta’s Angel Fund
Charles and Laura Aftosmis have memorialized their beloved Asta by establishing an endowment to help pets with cancer. Anyone who would like their donation to be directed to this endowment can specify that their contribution be added to Asta’s Angel Fund.
Endowments: An endowment is the transfer of money to ACAFwith the stipulation that it be invested and the principal remain intact for a definite period of time or in perpetuity.

Gifts may be made to support a project that addresses a unique need, or a tribute to honor or remember a special animal, friend, or family member. The gift can be restricted (designated for a specific purpose) or unrestricted (funds going where needed).
